In
addition to our prime peninsula location on Mantrap Lake,
we are conveniently located near many local offerings. We
are only three miles from the Paul Bunyan State Forest.
You could stop by the village of Lake George on your way
to Itasca State Park and the Headwaters of the Mississippi,
which is only a half-hour’s drive away. The village
of Dorset, the restaurant capital, is nearby as well as
the community of Nevis, where you can play mini-golf, rent
bikes, enjoy a coffee or ice cream treat, shop or dine at
one of the local restaurants. Enjoy a movie or shop in a
variety of shops in downtown Park Rapids, where you can
park in the middle of the street.
The area is scattered
with delightful golf courses for golfers of all ability
levels to enjoy. The Heartland Trail is a 27-mile bike trail
from Park Rapids to Walker, passing through Dorset, Nevis,
and Akeley.
After all those
activities, guests unwind and relax in our lodge which is
left open 24 hours a day. There you will find a massive
stone fireplace to curl up by, a ping pong and foosball table,
piano, books, games, TV/VCR and wireless Internet access. Our grounds include a
shuffleboard court, bonfire pit, benches for loon and eagle
watching, a free paddle boat and canoe, and most of all
peacefulness. While impromptu gatherings around the bonfire
pit may be a nightly event, activities are not planned at
Fremont’s Point. |
